Kinesiology
Kinesiology is a very verstile Natural Healing Technique which can be used and applied in many different forms.
Kinesiology, the word originated in the Greek language, meaning the study of motion; in particular it is monitoring co-ordinated muscle movement.
Kinesiology techniques can be applied in order to identify stress and imbalances within the body. Imbalances which may relate to injuries, nutritional deficiencies, food intolerances or emotional stress- and most important for parents, it can help identify and correct learning difficulties.
In the early sixties Dr. George Goodheart, an American Chiropractor began using muscle testing to evaluate posture and general body imbalances. His discovery was called the Applied Kinesiology, a connection between western and eastern medical practices.
In the early seventies Dr. John Thie, a Chiropractor started to teach Touch for Health, a system which was designed for Lay people. Since then millions of people from all walks of life have studied this system.
Many have been so inspired and encouraged by it, that they evolved their own systems within the Kinesiology field.
One specific form of Kinesiology, esp for parents, teachers and all people working with children is
Educational Kinesiology or Brain Gy. It is a series of simple and enjoyable movements used with students in Educational Kinesiology to enhance their experience of whole- brain learning.
