Acupuncture - SA - Traditional Chinese & Japanese
Acupuncture is part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which originated in China over 5,000 years ago.
It is practice all of the world and has been proved to be safe and effective.
An Acupuncturist uses fine needles to stimulate specific points along meridian lines ( energy) on the body for therapeutic purposes.
There are over 500 acupuncture points. By stimulating these points with needles,
the quality and quantity of energy (Qi) and fluids can be normalised.
Often an area or acupuncture point is warmed and stimulated by a Chinese
herb. This process is called Moxibustion.
Suction cups and massage may also be utilised to enhance the treatment.
Acupuncture is based on natural principles, understanding the interaction of the 5 elements, fire, earth, metal, water and wood, and the principles of yin and yang.
Diagnosis is done by The Chinese Pulse and Tongue Diagnosis.
