Hypnotherapy

Hypnotic suggestions may be delivered by a hypnotist in the presence of the subject, or may be self-administered ("self-suggestion" or "autosuggestion").

 

The use of hypnotism for therapeutic purposes is referred to as Hypnotherapy.

 

The benefits that hypnosis can bring are varied, from overcoming a vast range of fears, phobias and conditions including relief of symptoms of pain and can also help with a wide range of medical conditions.

 

Hypnosis is an altered state of mind where the subconscious mind is in control while the conscious mind is detached.

 

The conscious mind is that part of the mind that is rational & analytical.

 

The subconscious mind on the other hand operates in an almost automatic manner & can be instructed to act in the best interests of that individual without obstruction from outside influences.

 

Therefore hypnotherapy targets the subconscious mind to bring about change from within.

 

It is important at this point to be made aware that this is clinical hypnotherapy and not stage hypnosis.

 

Furthermore as the change is brought about by the individual themselves the instructions to the subconscious mind will only be acted on if they are beneficial to the person i.e.

 

People won't do things that are harmful to them.
