I think it is just a trendy word for something a lot of people used to call - dropping out of the ratrace... only that the word drop-out had some negative inclination.

These days, the change may be more focused on achieving a balanced lifestyle, not quiet dropping out, more a dropping into a more balanced lifestyle... and it certainly is a powerful trend that is here to stay.
