The Art of Healing was established in Byron Bay, in November 2002. Catherine Mercer, Editor/Publisher and founder of The Art of Healing explains - “working on the health feature for a local newspaper I was introduced to a whole new area of alternative health, and I found the extent and diversity of what was available simply amazing. I could see there was a real need for a publication that articulated and explained these services, that was not just another ‘ad rag’.”

 Hence, the magazine was born – with a mission to inform and educate its readers about developments and emerging issues in alternative health, complementary healthcare/integrative medicine and healing practices, and to motivate people to become more self-empowered and responsible with respect to their wellbeing.

And how quickly the magazine has grown - from the first issue of just 10 pages and local distribution, the magazine now has an established distribution through selected newsagencies, supermarkets, speciality outlets, health food stores and bookstores in Australia and New Zealand.
