Drug addiction can affect us all at some point in our lives. Most people experiment with drugs and alcohol during their teens but then move on!

Some of the unfortunates don't! They struggle with drug addiction and become "addicts" constantly caught up in a battle to live their lives whilst struggling with the need to obtain whatever their drug of choice just happens to be.

I was one of the unfortunates whom struggled with addiction for over twenty years!

As a fully recovered addict, I have written a book about my life and times as a drug addict and alcoholic.

Slowly over time, the need to obtain and use drugs became such a compulsion, that I ended up homeless.

At one point in time I lived in a cemetery in Newtown, Sydney.

Writing the book was part a process of catharsis, and in part a way of turning some of the darkest hours of my life into a positive.

“I never in my wildest dreams envisaged that I would end up a homeless bum, drinking on a park bench with the other feckless and less fortunate’s!”

The book offers insight into a world that most of us hopefully will never have to visit…and those that do usually don’t ever make it back.

Many years later: clean and sober, I revisited the streets to find out that most of the characters I used to drink or use drugs with, had either died, or been so severely effected that they are now full time residents in mental health care facilities.

This real life story was written to help people suffering from the disease of addiction, to give them hope and to hopefully inspire them to overcome their battle with addiction.

Written in such a way that the reader is compelled to discover what happens next, "Awoken by an Angel" is a must read for anyone who is thinking about doing something about their addiction problems or knows somebody who is currently struggling with addiction.

I am here to offer advice and support to those who are struggling with addiction.
