Hemp Foods Australia was founded in 1999 by Paul Benhaim to manufacture and distribute hemp seeds, hemp oil and hemp protein. Paul was 'imported' to Australia to transfer his knowledge and success from Europe. Paul founded the European hemp foods industry through novel food production techniques that created foods including hemp seed snack bars, hemp milk, hemp ice cream and hemp oil based protein products. Australia's legislative changes were not as simple as expected, and only in 2011-2 the second attempt to persuade FSANZ (then ANZFA) to recommend to the Ministerial Committee of the Australian Federal Government that hemp foods are not only safe in every other Western Country - but they are a superfood and highly beneficial to the health of all Australians.
