Compounding Chemistry (pharmacy) is the customized mixing of drugs or natural compounds by a Compounding Chemist to fit the unique needs of a patient.
This may be done for medically necessary reasons, such as to change the form of the medication from a solid to a liquid, to avoid a non-essential ingredient that the patient maybe allergic to, or to obtain the exact dose and mixture needed.
It may also be done for reasons, such as compounding medicines free of artificial substances, sugars or flavours.
Compounds which ca be produced are endless, but often include; HRT, Melatonin, DHEA, Natural Thyroid, Skin Rejuvenation, Digestive, Vitamin, Mineral, Paediatric and Veterinary Products.
