What is Celebrant Holistic?

Holistic Wedding Celebrant

Your wedding day is one of the most defining moments of your life.

The role as a wedding celebrant is to reflect your wishes in a ceremony that uniquely describes your personalities and values.

Your love for each other is the focus of the day and a wedding celebrant will ensure that your nerves are eased so you can relax and take in the moment that is yours.

Focusing on the spiritual nature and a natural holistic lifestyle for a partnership ..

Ceremony is a way of setting a conscious intention or energy pattern for a relationship or event.

In ceremony, we take time to stop and connect with others, sometimes in joy (a marriage, commitment or naming ceremony) and sometimes in sorrow (a funeral or separation ceremony).

By speaking words and promises aloud in front of witnesses, we become creators of our lives.

When we are in ceremony, we are in the now and that is what makes it so special. We may be speaking promises for the future but the words are being uttered now. The people with us and witnessing our ceremony are here now.

Civil ceremonies fill a space left when religion, for many of us, did not grow with our ways of being and thinking. And in modern ceremony, we can take time and create words that honour our differences and honour the earth.

We can create vows and promises that come from the heart so that they may be easy to live by, knowing that words uttered may bind us for at least this lifetime, if not further.

We can create ceremonies and celebrations afterwards that step lightly on the earth (for example, use environmentally friendly products in our ceremonies, cater for our celebrations with organic food and avoid traditional products and elements of ceremony that are not culturally sensitive or environmentally friendly).

A modern celebrant will create unique ceremonies for each person, based on their beliefs and values.

Ceremonies are not done by rote or pre-packaged. However, a celebrant may not include certain things in a ceremony that would go against the creative principle, for example, most celebrants would not encourage ritual aimed at damaging another person or the environment.

Each celebrant has a different awareness however. Release of butterflies, birds and balloons has become a popular ritual but there are animal rights issues and environmental issues attached to them.

Candle ceremonies are popular and beeswax candles are a beautiful and non-toxic product to use.

A holistic celebrant would aim to inform their clients of these types of issues and also offer information on ways of creating a ceremony and celebration that is life-affirming for ourselves and our planet. The celebrant may also make recommendations to include certain vibrational elements into a ceremony, such as essential oils or flower essences or ways of cleansing and clearing our own energy and that of the venue before our ceremony.

Your ceremony is setting into motion energy and intention – when seeking a celebrant for your ceremony, you may need to talk to a few different celebrants before you find one you are in tune with.

Most celebrants will be happy to talk to you and discuss your needs without any obligation on your part.
