Relationships: Daily Inspiration & Motivation

The Importance of Daily Inspiration & Motivation

To continue on from my last article Become Proactive with caring for Mind, Body and Spirit in regards to having a great relationship with the Self first, I’d like to write a little about the importance of motivating and inspiring ourselves on a daily basis.

I work on and maintain my emotional health on a daily basis.

Some of the things I do to achieve this is by first meditating in the morning before my day gets busy.  Because my days are busy I set my alarm for at least 30 minutes earlier than I need to just so I can fit a meditation session into my day.

Meditation is the perfect discipline for clarity, self healing, relaxation and stress, as well as for grounding and centring oneself.  ( see more on meditation here )

The next best thing for me at least, is to exercise.

Exercise really is a ‘no-brainer’ in regards to a healthy mind and body, and in some form or other, is great for young and old.  This is something I like to include in my weekly routine as much as possible because it increases my level of energy, tones my body, makes my skin feel great and looks glowing particularly after litres of perspiration and really gets me pumped (my word for motivated).

Over the years I’ve found that emotional wellbeing requires daily motivation and inspiration so below I’ve listed a few tips on what works for me on a daily basis and may for you also:

  • Find yourself inspirational fridge magnets, inspirational cards, posters, prints, or motivational calendars which speak volumes to you, and position them at eye level and in places you’ll often see them

  • Touch base with those friends of yours who support and love you.

  • Surround yourself with cheerful colours which inspire you and lift your spirit.

  • Smile, even if it hurts. Your smile may turn to laughter in which case class that as an added bonus.

  • If you don’t already, begin an exercise routine, this can be in the form of dancing, walking, yoga, etc…

  • Do some gardening and hug a tree.

  • Take action on achieving your goals, if you find obstacles and issues getting in your way;
find a practitioner who can help you clear them.

  • Continue moving in a forward motion

These are just a few quick points that work for me daily.

You might have your own effective ways of motivating and inspiring yourself.

Do whatever works perfectly for you each day and begin to notice how much more balance and personal power you have.
