What is Seitai
SEITAI
On the surface, similar to Shiatsu and western chiropractic techniques, but in reality the art of Seitai massage has its roots deep inside the ancient Japanese healing system. Seitai is derived from the principle that the human body has the power to restore itself naturally to its normal condition from common illness and injury without external interference.
This we call body's natural healing power.
While this natural healing power works unconsciously, various factors that weaken or obstruct its ability to function are revealed to the Seitai practitioner when examining the condition of the body's skeletal frame and muscles.
Seitai is a method that activates the natural healing power of the body by determining the source of a problem and thereafter applying the appropriate Seitai technique. Seitai combines the essence of hidden technique of an assembly of various healing therapies that existed in Japan at the time of the Second World War.
Fearing that secret techniques would be lost, the masters of various therapies assembled to scrutinize each technique, and preserved only those that were absolutely effective. Seitai developed from the combination and perfection of such techniques. Until then, the so- called "secret" or "esoteric" healing techniques has traditionally been passed down to only a few recipients in Japan.
Seitai therapist
Seitai therapist is known as Comprehensive remedial massage therapist in Japan because of their wide ranged knowledge of human body. It is not only Chinese medicine theory, but also western theory and techniques such as Chiropractic, Osteopathy, etc. As traditionally Seitai starts from the mixture of many various therapies and each techniques, it has the nature of changing and improving their form by mixing some other new techniques by each Seitai therapist. This is why sometimes each Seitai therapist’s therapy is very different.
How is it done?
Pressure is applied to different parts/points on the body, using great precision. Even though the method has a very ancient origin, it is continously being developed and adapted to the needs that occur in our bodies due to the modern life style. This makes Seitai unique among the traditional therapies.
How does it work?
Seitai confirms and uses the extraordinary self healing powers of the human body. The treatment stimulates the ki flow, i.e. the power of life (ki can also be written chi or qi). Consequently, the Seitai therapist does not "cure" the condition but guides the body to improved health through self healing.
Benefits include: stimulation for removal of toxins, improving circulation for tired muscles, balancing and de-stressing the cranio-sacral system, charging the immune and nervous system, and encouraging body tone and coordination.
