Babyscope -  Some insights for babies born in 2009   - Maggie Kerr  AAT

A few words about babies and Sun signs.

The Sun sign describes the qualities and attributes we carry as potential, which we grow into rather than how we necessarily are when we are small.  A baby responds more from its Moon sign for the first 7 years, and these are the qualities of the Mother.  The Sun sign tells us of the Father qualities, and it is his ‘messages’ and behaviours that will condition the potential of your child as their Sun Sign. So what you read below offers you the chance to support your special new family member toward their adult potential.

CAPRICORN - Jan.1st to 20th. + Dec 22nd to 30th
Our world ushered in a very powerful pod of little Goats in 2009 with transformer Pluto in the sign of Capricorn for the first time in 250 years! Kids born in January will be highly organised and need good quality education as you may have a writer or teacher in your midst. Those born December will be movers and shapers of corporate governance in 30 years and your job is to groom this factor whilst also encouraging co-operative activity with others.  Yes there is a deep intensity in this serious Soul, so encouraging fun is essential as you also support their need to ‘go deep’ for the answers to the meaning of life! And all of them have bountiful Jupiter bringing great inner and outer wealth through innovative technology and the sciences.

AQUARIUS - Jan.21st to Feb. 19th
These treasures are the humanitarians of the Zodiac who will have great influence in the new world being birthed in our current amazing shifting times. With inspirational spiritual Neptune… plus expansive purposeful Jupiter in Aquarius as well, they are gifted with great positivity along with a good dose of eccentricity, so their strong but sensitive character will enjoy lots of stimulation. Stories of mythic heroes will thrill them and they will identify with revolutionary characters who break rules so they can change the world. They need a cause or group activity from an early age so the rebellious forces they carry have somewhere useful to be sent, and instilling a positive sense of self worth is essential to underpin their highly unusual potential.

PISCES - Feb 20th to Mar 21st
Fish people are psychically sensitivity and these little fish are especially attuned to ‘higher realms’, so don’t fret if they enjoy time alone as this is when their fertile imagination is inspired with unusual inventive ideas. And herein lies their destiny…to be a philosopher and ‘futurist’ who is way ahead of their time. Never make fun of the marvellous if strange art or writings that emerge over the years, but rather keep a scrapbook and school them well in ancient teachings and spirituality and along the way you will also be transformed by this child. These are ‘systems’ people and may work in health fields or techno design. Despite their sometimes eccentric personality and need for freedom they will enjoy serious, stable relationships.

ARIES - Mar 22nd to Apr 20th
Little Rams this year carry an interesting mix of strength and vulnerability so your job requires knowing when to offer strong boundaries so he/she learns to respect authority, and when to encourage them to express feelings rather than burying their hurt or anger. “It’s safe to have your feelings” is a great permission. This little pioneer is powered by many planets in the team/community sector offering a humanitarian spirit and the urge to be a ‘change agent’ in years to come, so there will be no shortage of interesting people and ideas being bought home for dinner along with plenty of strays…both animal and human. These kids will be hard working, enjoy routines and like to ‘get things right’. Health areas will interest them and potentially contain career outcomes, and they need careful diet for their sensitive systems.

TAURUS - Apr 21st to May 21st
With progressive successful planets lighting up this little one’s career sector, you will be grooming an adult who will become prominent by daring to strike out into a world of ideas and technology that will become part of the ‘revolution’ in the 2020/30s. Taurus is the sign of wealth and worth so nurturing good ‘self worth’ may create either a fine musician, a fine economist or environmentalist…or maybe all three! You’ll also need to offer healthy recognition and approval to open their confidence, and allow for a more independent character who can be quite self willed when it suits them, at the same time as providing the stable foundation required by these steady and sensual beings.

GEMINI - May 21st to June 21st
Well you’ve going to need your running shoes with this busy bunny as the 2009 signals of inspirational growth and change for society are totally brilliant in baby’s sector of adventures in learning and travel. In coming decades they will birth the new philosophy beyond religious intolerance of these times…yes this will happen and your bub is primed for action once you support learning communication skills, and provide an eclectic education. Those born up to May 15th are a tad quieter with an inclination to psychology and service paths. They all need solid family support plus the freedom to be ‘different and break with tradition’, and through either circumstance or their own nature will be very responsible around the family.

CANCER - June 22nd to July 22nd
All crabs are ‘feelers’ and your new addition is no exception with a deep need for emotional safety and support a keynote for all of their lives, but don’t be fooled into thinking this means all soft and sookie as this little 2009 group are capable of great independence, strength and endurance. Bubs born up to 13th can work in social sciences and have musical gifts, and to 22nd are more ‘intellectual’ and clever with their hands and design. And all carry the seed of innovation and change of this 2009 year as a destiny to be powerful lawmakers or work in social justice areas. Be patient with their learning process and encourage unusual subjects as they will bore with the norm. Relationships will be a powerful theme for all of their lives.

LEO - July 23rd to Aug 23rd
What a dynamic busy little person has just arrived in your life! This gregarious Soul will be the classic outgoing Lion with an extra dose of energy for good measure, and with so many planets in air signs, communications and public relations areas will be the direction for the life’s calling. They will absolutely love people of all shapes and sizes so get ready for a busy houseful, and yet ironically they also will sometimes be the ‘loner’ who needs to be ‘different’…yes a trendsetter who marches to a different drum. Encouraging direction of their natural sense of drama into the entertainment business may work well, and they may also be interested in health and healing areas, and enjoy a well ordered home life with a touch of the perfectionist.

VIRGO - Aug 24th to Sept 23rd
At the best of times Virgo is a refined and methodical sign and with hard working, responsible Saturn also in Virgo this year you may already be peering into a serious little face that takes in everything before deciding to give you that big smile. This is a strong adult in the making who will direct and manage the world, so encouraging fun and lightness is essential to help balance their nature. Nurturing confidence may also be needed and this child will mature into their potential as a loving, nurturing person who needs to be inspired by philosophies and ideas that create a sustainable future. Science and technology or social reform hold the key to their work and career outcomes, and they will need freedom in relationships throughout their lives.

LIBRA - Sept 24th to Oct 23rd
You will notice a distinct contrast in characteristics in 2009’s beautiful Librans as on the one side they have splendid outgoing qualities, loving the limelight with a flair for the dramatic and unconventional. And this should be encouraged as they need your approval to develop their creativity in writing, sport, dancing and photographic mediums…some or all of which they will excel in. And then there is a very shy retiring side to their nature, with a love of order and a tendency to ‘be perfect’. Your job is to help them find the balance and enjoy the ride. They will be motivated and nourished by a warm family scene so don’t argue around them, and be aware that they will transform your family and many other people’s along the way.

SCORPIO - Oct 24th to Nov 22nd
Power and passion are the words associated with this marvellous Zodiac sign, and your little 2009 Eagle has these in bucketfuls! With individual independent Mars activating their career and public sector ambition and competitiveness are strong, so help them learn the gentle art of co-operation at an early age. Leadership is a natural feature here with an intense need to ‘get to the bottom of things’ in terms of learning and knowledge. They will be powerful communicators with a talent for ‘saying things like they are’, and hold the promise of transforming learning systems in their adult outcomes.  And with quirky, unconventional planets in their emotional security zone they’ll need freedom and closeness at the same time!

SAGITTARIUS - Nov 23rd to Dec 21st
Sagittarians are typically the traveller adventurers of the Zodiac, outgoing and optimistic, enthusiastic and gifted with a guardian angel who gets them out of all sorts of scrapes. And in 2009 with assertive Mars in dramatic Leo you can multiply this a few times and get ready for an exciting ride. Your job is to teach the difference between recklessness and risk and all will be well, although they’ll be asking for plane rides early in the piece. They will also absolutely love learning of all kinds, and need to be introduced to philosophies and different religions so they can fashion their own set of beliefs…with tolerance for others as a keynote! And on this note they need to think before they speak…which could be quite a challenge.
