Spirituality and Health |
|
Is there a correlation, between good health, and positive spiritual outlook? Studies by major health organizations, spiritualistic places, say yes. now this is not to say, you need to adhere to a particular religion, or church. That's not necessarily what I call spirituality.
Eating healthy good foods, and physical training is good, however we all need a balance, of both the outer and inner selves.
First, I need to clarify what true spirituality is in my humble opinion.
Spirituality is not:
Going to church. Some of the most spirituality unhealthy people I knew, were/are church goers.
Following a strict, or legalistic form of doctrine, rules, or adherence to "scriptures.
Spirituality is:
Being centred within yourself
Balance and harmony, as best possible within you and your community
Seeing others, as having a unique, spiritual self, and responding with kindness, and dignity
Promotion, and practises, that emphasise these things, as best possible.
Not easy to do in these stress filled times. However when you at least try to put in effort for this, you'll notice little changes occurring, in various means. One important aspect, is that you need to be patient with yourself. These things will not happen overnight. They may not happen in a week. However, just keep at it. Journal, meditate, yoga, get involved in events that promote the common good. These changes will happen.
Eat well. Be well. Recycle your focus on a daily basis. it will happen.
