So what do quantum mechanics and healing have in common?  One is science and the other is the field of the human heart, surely they are separate? Apparently not.

One of the strangest predictions of the theory of quantum mechanics is that particles can become "entangled" so that even after they are separated in space, when an action is performed on one particle, the other particle responds immediately.

Perhaps read the above paragraph again, maybe even twice more.  Certainly many twins and many mothers know the phenomenon of simply knowing when something wrong with either their twin or their child.

In Family Constellation work we talk of entanglements and they work in exactly the same way it is described in quantum mechanics concerning particles.  In other words, if we see each individual within a family system as being a particle of something larger and greater, when an 'action' is performed on a 'particle' in a previous generation, the particles in the here and now respond too.

Therefore the wars, tragedies, deaths, divorces and betrayals of previous generations can not only be felt, but also lived out as if it were all happening in the here and now.

So how does that work? Well, time is not the fixed thing we imagine it to be. For example, the internal chronometers in satellites are set differently according to the distance it has to a large mass - the earth. The closer to earth, the slower time moves, the further away from a large mass, the faster time moves.  Time is therefore fluid and the past is as much alive and influential as the present.  According to quantum mechanics, events in the past exist in a state of probabilities in the same way we think of probable futures. According to Stephen Hawking and Mlodinow:

'No matter how thorough our observation of the present, the past, like the future, is indefinite and exists only as a spectrum of possibilities."

With this being true, we have the power to change the past that will bleed through to our present with a healthier influence.

So much of what we are learning from quantum mechanics, relativity and string theory today supports what the mystics have been saying for countless generations. So today in our logical thinking and measuring world we can find support the concepts we come against in our quest for personal healing.

I hope your mind is enjoying this brain tickler. The important and astounding message however is that we can change our past and therefore both our present and future thus we transform fate into destiny.
