Hot Stone Massage
Hot Stone massage is a highly detoxifying type of massage that is done with smooth, heated, basalt stones; a black volcanic rock that absorbs and retains heat well. The stones are the tools used by the massage therapist. The heat of the stones helps to relax the muscles and stimulate the circulation, allowing the toxins to come up to the surface of the skin. At the same time we incorporate a relaxation masssage technique which helps the muscles even further because of the heat. The heat is both deeply relaxing and assists tight muscles to release more quickly than in traditional massage. Hot Stone massage is the ultimate relaxation massage!
A non-invasive healing modality which helps to balance the human energy system and assist the body in repairing itself. It is simple, natural and extremely effective in helping to maintain health, reduce stress, and prevent illness by strengthening the immune system, and creating feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
The client is asked a few questions about themselves to identify the areas where the crystals are needed. The client remains fully clothed and lies on a table in a warm room with theraputic music playing and the subtle perfume of relaxing essential oils. The practitioner chooses the crystals that are appropriate and places them on the body.
The client is then assisted to direct their breath to the crystals through a guided meditation. The practitioner may also ask the client to feel, sense or visualise different emotions throughout this meditation practise as they place their hands gently on the body and transmit loving energy into the energy systems of the body. The treatment process usually takes between an hour-and-a-half to two hours. The results are often transformational.
Bach Flower Remedies
The flower essences work in subtle ways to undo negative influences, energy, or characteristics in a person. Dr Bach believed that disease was the result of imbalance between mind, body and soul. The remedies restore emotional balance. Bach believed that you should 'treat the patient not the disease'.
Negative emotions and thoughts, and even diseases are treated by choosing a remedy to match the temperament of the patient and their current state of mind. Bach believed that the primary cause of illness was the patients state of mind; their worries and anxieties. He felt that when these temperaments were treated the physical conditions would fade away.
Whole Body Relaxation Massage
Massage is a natural, drug-free alternative to alleviate the pressures associated with today's demanding lifestyles.
Massage is also a preventative therapy. Regular treatments help you to think and function more effectively and also improve your overall feelings of well-being. Treatments are extremely effective, safe and natural and available to anyone of any age.
A relaxation massage is a rather straightforward session using classic massage techniques. The massage therapist will use light to medium pressure, depending on your preference. The gentle stroking techniques act as a mild sedative on the body; resulting in a feeling of total relaxation. This enhances a sense of vitality and well-being and is a natural 'pick-me-up' at the end of a busy week.
The intent of the session is to help the client to relax, by calming and revitalising the mind and body. Regular treatments should be incorporated into any stress management program.
