What to expect in a psychic reading

There are many ways in which a psychic reading might be conducted by the reader. Every reader has something unique that he or she will bring to the experience. It is vital for you to remember that at all times you are in control. This is your reading, so if you don't understand the information you are being given, or you need to hear it again, then speak up!

Importantly, you should feel that the reading is sacred; that you are in a safe environment that has been prepared for your arrival; that the reader is ready and focussed; that there are no distractions from either you or the reader (mobile phones off, no one knocking on the door); and that the space in which the readng is being conducted is private and comfortable (even if it is over the phone - make sure no one is going to barge in).

There are many intuitive arts that go under the title of psychic (it means soul work after all). Typically you might expect that the reader may use cards (divination or oracle cards), runes, tea leaves, or they may write things down as they go. None of this, or all of it may happen. Unless you have booked in for a particular type of reading, and have an expectation of that (tarot for example), it is best to let the reading unfold, as the reader will be working intuitively.

Being open minded, and open hearted, is the ideal way to enter into a psychic reading. It is good to have an idea of the areas you would like guidance on (marriage, children, career etc) but allow yourself to be open to the information that is being offered. Many times it transcends all the small questions and goes right to the heart of the matter. There may underlying reasons that the reader is able to detect, which help explain why you have been unable to find love, meet the right man, hold down a job and so on.

A psychic reading, like all interaction between sentient beings, is an exchange of energy. If you feel defensive, closed-off or aggresive as you enter into a reading, it will be almost impossible for the reader to 'read' your energy. If you don't feel safe, then perhaps this is not the reader for you, or maybe this isn't the right time for you to proceed. It is best to walk away rather than waste your time.

An excellent psychic reader will always be motivated by a desire to serve humanity, and to alleviate the suffering of others. Our job is not one we take lightly. It is a calling in most cases. When you are in the hands of an excellent reader you feel reassured, comforted, guided but not coddled or pandered to. An excellent reader will offer the information they recieve in a wise and kind way, but they will not make things up just to please you. On the other hand, a reader will also not tell you things such as when someone is going to die as they do not know this information. This is in the hands of the Universe alone.

Psychic readings are not about fortune telling or future predicting. They offer guidance, insight, sign posts and previously concealed understandings of why things are the way they are. A reader may indicate the approximate time an event may unfold, but ....

it is a law of the Universe that you have absolute free will ....  and can change the course of your reality with one single action.

Finally, a psychic reading should leave you feeling more aware, clearer and ready for the next step. Look around, take friend's referral and do your own research. The right reader is out there for you and you are entitled to the very best.
