Tinted Moisturisers for Summer

At Chikii we have had a number of enquiries on tinted moisturisers and finding one that does not contain any of those chemical nasties, is a moisturiser, sunscreen, lightweight and great for a natural look. Also one that does not make you look orange or fake. Tinted moisturisers are great for summer and do not feel too heavy and have a thick texture of foundation.

A tinted moisturiser is actually a moisturizer with a little colour added. It’s the sheerest of all the foundations, and it’s perfect for use during the summer months when you feel like wearing next to nothing. It evens out the skin tone while providing minimal coverage.

The biggest reason that a great tinted moisturiser is so popular is that it has a number of benefits – it contains natural moisturisers, it gives a light subtle coverage and reduces the effect of sun damage.  Another reason is because it is a beautiful product in producing a radiant glow to the skin when there is none. And finally, a pure high quality tinted moisturiser has serious skincare benefit, such as anti-ageing/antioxidant favourites like green tea, and vitamins E (which means as well as protecting you from the sun, they give maximum anti-aging benefits.), beautiful botanical ingredients and pure plant extracts such as Aloe Vera, Shea butter, jojoba, sunflower and rosehip, nutrients that nourish and balance the skin. Finally, a product that contains natural minerals and mica (terrific for those with sensitive or inflamed or congested skin) used for colour and shimmer.  The one drawback that we see with tinted moisturisers is that they do not provide colour choices for most skin tones.

Application of a Tinted moisturizer.

Shake well. Apply one section at a time, with quick, even strokes. Either leave for a natural look or set with translucent powder or your normal foundation. Apply after skincare/moisturizer, using a downward motion with fingertips or a sponge. A sponge or foundation brush will help you apply the product more evenly than using your fingers.
Tinted Moisturizer can be worn with or without primer underneath. An application of Foundation Primer first will naturally extend the wear of Tinted Moisturizer especially for oilier skins or all skins in warmer/humid months. If you prefer a soft/slightly moist finish, set the Tint with a small amount of Translucent Loose Powder by lightly tapping with the side of the Powder Brush. For a more matte finish, set Tinted Moisturizer with Translucent Loose Powder or Pressed Setting Powder.

Tinted Moisturizer is a great choice for women who want to look natural but still have a few things to cover. The look and feel is sheer and lightweight and provides light to medium coverage and wears evenly.
