Questions to ask a Feng Shui Consultant
Copyright Elizabeth Wiggins - Feng Shui Living
Are you a member of the Association of Feng Shui Consultants?
If they answer yes confirm what level membership they have obtained. You can then be comfortable knowing their training has been confirmed.
What type of Feng Shui do you practise?
There are many types of Feng Shui although the AFSC focuses their membership's levels on Traditional Feng Shui. These include Form, Compass and Flying Star School
How long have you been practising Feng Shui?
You may find that the consultant has just finished their training or have many years experience and you may find that the price is reflected in this. When a consultant completes their studies they are usually passionate about gaining experience, so please be open to this.
Do they use a traditional Lopan or Compass?
Many consultants use a Traditional Lopan but a compass may also be used to obtain an accurate compass reading.
Do they request floor plans and the construction date of your home or business?
When conducting a Flying Star Analysis of your home or business a compass direction, scale floor plans, the construction date of the building and the date of birth of the occupants is needed.
How do you feel when talking to the Consultant?
Not all consultants are the same; you will need to find one that you feel comfortable with. Their answers should satisfy your queries, making you feel confident about their skills.
What sort of remedies will they use?
With traditional Feng Shui the use of the Five Elements is used. Fire, Earth, Metal, Water & Wood, the elements, colours and shapes of these elements are used. You should not be able to tell a Feng Shui consultant has been in your home. Any remedies should blend in with the decor to help create harmony.
Have they got any Client testimonials?
If the client has had consultations they should be willing to supply client testimonials.
Do they supply written reports?
Some consultants offer written reports and also verbal reports depending on your requirements, you will find that this is reflected in the cost of a consultation.
Do they supply any follow up?
Feel free to ask the consultant if they are available for follow up questions and answers. Some consultants include this in their initial consultation and may have a time limit such as 3 months.
